Job Purpose

The Group Financial Controller is responsible for all aspects of the Group day to day financial activities across all operating centres, including preparation of month end accounts, payroll, debtors, and VAT returns, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, audits and year end statutory accounts and tax compliance. The role is also responsible for setting and monitoring the performance of each department within the business in line with their set budgets. The role will implement and maintain all financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures.

Major Responsibilities

• Maintain an adequate filing system with all accounting documentation being filed in a timely manner maintain fixed asset register and carry monthly depression
  
• Expected to play a key role in strategic direction and the development of policies, procedures relating to financial matters.
  
• Assist in internal/external financial audits
  
• Check and post petty cash transactions in accounting system and reconcile with cash book and cash 
  
• Enter bank statements in accounting system
  
• Prepare of monthly bank reconciliation statements and petty cash counts
  
• Daily postings and record keeping of financial transactions in financial system
  
• Maintenance of the general ledger, taxation, auditing and payroll.
  
• Day to day supervision of payments i.e. after obtaining all the necessary approvals, prepare payment vouchers and cheques
  
• Timely production of budget forecasts, financial plan and reports
  
• All costs are accounted for
  
• Increased accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual forecasted profiles
  
• Increased accuracy cost recovery profiles and expenditure
  

Academic & Professional Qualification 

• Professional Accounting Qualification (CPA)
  
• Relevant working experience
  
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
