Job Purpose
On behalf of our esteemed client, we are looking for Trailer Supervisor responsible for providing maintenance duties in support of the company management by ensuring vehicles are serviced and maintained in a proper manner. The successful candidate will direct report to the Workshop Manager.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform duties in a safe and responsible manner.
- Standards to ensure that the workshop complies with safety policies and guidelines.
- Monitor and update the preventive maintenance program.
- Ensure all related documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Hands-on capable leadership qualities with experience in Supervisory role.
- Able to prioritize workload, allocate resources, to ensure shortest possible turnaround time.
- Maintain discipline with subordinates, mentor, and train junior members.
- Accurately appraise skill sets and identify Training needs.
- Assist in planning parts, stock, and quantity requirements.
- Implement and execute trailer maintenance plan and refurbishment program.
- Adaptable and focus on continuous improvement on all levels.
- Would be knowledge, transfer, leadership ability, subordinate cohesion, and continuous improvement.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Workshop Manager
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Relevant Certification from a recognized technical college or university
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar job scope
- Experienced trailer maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment.
- Good knowledge of various suspension, braking and pneumatic systems.
- Some hydraulic experience would be highly advantageous.
- Experience in Precision welding procedures or background in Boiler making field.
- Thorough knowledge of preventive maintenance and warranty programs.
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
- Knowledge of transport system management and operations.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of vehicular maintenance and repair.
- Good communication skills with verbal and written reporting
- General language skills in both English and Kiswahili
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with superiors and subordinates.
- Ability to adapt, overcome and organize in a constantly changing automotive field.
