Job Purpose

To support HR processes across East Africa (wherever we are present), and to attract, develop and retain the right skills, through building the right employer brand.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide professional guidance on HR and IR matters.
  • Execute the HR strategy in line with Group objectives.
  • Ensure optimal resourcing at all times to enable efficient production.
  • Improve business culture through employee engagement strategies.
  • Manage effective performance management practices in line with Group guidelines.
  • HR planning each year with respective Management teams.
  • Foster an efficient and fair recruitment process.
  • Conduct skills audits, recommend development plans to close gaps.
  • Guide development of annual training and development for respective countries.
  • Monitor implementation of agreed annual HR plans and budgets.
  • Formulate and implement HR policies and procedures in line with company standards.
  • Support career development / succession planning at the Business Unit
  • Facilitate trade union effective consultation/negotiations ensuring a conducive Industrial Relations environment.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate retention strategy for key skills in accordance with business requirements.
  • Develop a close working partnership with line management and establish respect and confidence in the HR function by all staff.
  • Administer payroll input in line with organizational policies and Group requirements.
  • Lead CSR and wellness projects within the community
  • Produce monthly reports to the General Manager
  • Manage third party providers (Canteen, Recruitment agencies, Training providers) ensuring optimum resource utilization)
  • Implementation and sustaining of a WCM People Development Pillar

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Relevant bachelor's degree or Diploma in Industrial Relations / HR Management.
  • 7 years' experience in Human Resources
  • Good knowledge of all Human Resources management systems and tools (general and internal)
  • Good knowledge of labor legislations
  • Good command of computer applications (MS Office suite)
