Job Summary
A Technical Sales Executive, is responsible for driving sales of
technology products and services by understanding customer needs, providing technical
expertise, and offering solutions that align with the customer's goals. This
role involves a combination of technical knowledge, sales skills, and customer
relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing
and potential customers to understand their technology requirements and
business objectives.
- Product
Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the company's technology products
and services, keeping up to date with industry trends and advancements.
- Technical
Expertise: Provide technical expertise to customers by explaining product
features, benefits, and specifications in a clear and understandable manner.
Address technical questions and concerns.
- Solution
Selling: Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate technology solutions
to meet those needs. Customize proposals and presentations to showcase the
value of the products and services offered.
- Sales
Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed
sales targets. This may include identifying new market opportunities, creating
sales plans, and tracking progress.
- Product
Demonstrations: Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase
the functionality and benefits of technology solutions.
- Sales
Quotas: Set and achieve sales quotas and targets, monitor progress, and report
on sales performance regularly.
- Customer
Support: Collaborate with the technical support team to ensure that customers
receive excellent post-sales support and service.
- Market
Research: Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and customer needs.
Provide feedback to the product development team to help enhance product
offerings.
- Sales
Documentation: Prepare and maintain sales reports, quotes, contracts, and other
sales-related documents.
- Negotiation:
Negotiate terms and pricing with customers to close sales deals while ensuring
profitability for the company.
- Sales
Forecasting: Provide accurate sales forecasts to management, enabling resource
allocation and planning.
- Feedback
and Improvement: Gather feedback from customers and provide input to the
product development team to improve products and services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer
Science, Engineering, Business, or Marketing).
- Proven experience in technology sales or a
similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge and the ability to
communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Goal-oriented and self-motivated with a track
record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Familiarity with CRM software for managing
customer relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a
team.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think
creatively to find solutions for customers.
