Job Summary
On behalf of our esteemed client, we are looking to hire a Microbiologist to ensure that there are no unsafe microbes being introduced during the beverage (soft drinks) production process. This is a crucial quality control role that must be performed well to ensure the beverages produced are safe for public consumption. The microbiologist is also responsible for providing beverage safety and regulatory compliance advice to the production team of the plant.
Job Responsibilities
- Microbiological analysis of raw materials like sugar, syrup, etc.
- Microbiological analysis of Beverage (Carbonated Soft Drinks) Juice and detection of pathogenic bacteria
- Microbiological analysis of Beverage packing material like blow bottles caps, empty cans
- Identification and microscopic examination of microbial isolates from samples
- Swab testing of storage tanks, mixers, beverage fillers valves, capper heads
- Environmental monitoring of fillers areas, bottles inlets, outlets, and bottles filling the place
- Hand swab testing of operators
- Implementation of GMPs, HACCP as part of food safety, Pest Control & Biohazard Waste Management
- Laboratory Management (Housekeeping & Inventory), Results Interpretation, Documentation & Record Keeping
- Zero personal accident while on duty by setting standard for quality, health and safety
- Timely submission of reports
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with Microbiology or any related field
- Over 3 years of the same experience microbiological lab of any food or beverage company/ manufacturing/ FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods)
- Knowledge of Lab analysis i.e., physical, chemical & microbiological analysis
- Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory best practices and drive to improve those practices where necessary
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise, schedule, and organise laboratory tests
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Computer literacy
- Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to identify information that is particularly important to the business
- Ability to notice food safety issues at every stage of the production process
