Job Purpose

To secure business by providing best practice solutions that will increase product revenues and profit.

Key Responsibilities

Customer - Macro
  • Provide freight solutions to customers to cater to their needs and requirements in line with company capabilities and infrastructure
  • Meet Freight sales target
  • Develop and maintain effective relationship with customers
  • Assist CMT’s on all sales and/or shipments that would require a subject matter expert
  • Continuously monitor and provide management with regular feedback about market trends and competitor activities

Customer - Micro
  • Analyze customers’ business models, routes, volumes, in order to create/customize solutions using all possible modes of shipping (Air, Land and Ocean)
  • Going on joint sales visits with the CMT when needed whether to regain lost clients, close new deals, cross sell existing clients, grow existing business
  • Provide CMT’s and Operations with best solutions for moving shipments
  • Communicate with key people the network to facilitate the shipping process
  • Support CMT’s to resolve customer cases in relation to claims, discrepancies and the like, where a product specialist is required
  • Reporting any information that might impact company image, brand or functioning

Financial Results - Macro
  • Consult with Direct Manager on the product sales and pricing strategy
  • Negotiate the best rates with the airlines, trucking agencies and other suppliers and Agencies where applicable
  • Ensure all ACP’s are met (client’s payments to be maintained at Current Terms)
  • Discounted pricing must be approved in writing by the Direct Manager

Financial Results - Micro
  • Ensure the product revenue target is met
  • Ensure product yield growth
  • Provide regular reports on overall sales activities (Pipeline), as well as other related reports as required by the Company
  • Take all necessary measures, when possible, to reduce cost without compromising quality and standards
