Main Job Purpose
To plan, direct, manage and oversee the
activities and operations of the ICT Department, administer the ICT budget,
staff and physical facilities of the department.
Main Tasks
ICT Strategy
- Develop the company IT strategy in line with
corporate core objectives
- Protect, secure and manage corporate data minimise
data loss whilst ensuring data availability and maintaining confidentiality
- Manage all major ICT related projects
- Develop and ensure compliance to ICT Policy
- Negotiate service level agreements with service
providers
- Monitor service delivery by external providers
- Monitor & review company information security
risks and requirements
- Recommend and review software, networks and hardware
requirements
- Research and development of new technologies
Network Management
- Planning and
implementation of major modifications to network and support infrastructure
- Planning and
implementation of network security at corporate level
- Oversee the
administration of the company’s WAN and LAN
Business Applications
- Ensure
availability and proper functioning of the business application (Sage ERP 300)
- Provide tools
for management information systems reports for decision making
- Oversee the
administration and maintenance of company ICT training programs
Management
- Monitor and control cost and expenditure
- Provide leadership to department staff
- Maintain discipline within the department
- Develop subordinates for improved performance through staff training and
coaching
- Work with project teams to implement internal systems
- Manage all changes to hardware/software systems
- Ensure that company ICT assets are maintained responsibly
Technical Support
- Ensuring the proper functioning of the company’s business
application
- Ensure company databases are online and protected
- Monitor and reviews support logs
- Attend to and resolve escalated support issues
- Manage internet service provision
- Interact with internal clients at all levels to
resolve ICT –related issues and provide solutions in a timely manner
Disaster Recovery
- Craft and maintain Disaster Recovery Policy
- Monitor and review company data backups
- Ensure backed up data is recoverable
Communication
- Ensuring the proper function of the company’s communication systems-emails, internet, telephony
- Recommend and implements web/ electronic communication technologies
- Maintain company website
ISO
- Develop, implement and maintain QMS and
- EMS procedures for the ICT department
- Ensure that internal control procedures are followed
- Ensure adherence to ISO
9000:2000 QMS, and EMS 14000:2004 procedures
within the department
Main Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences. Masters in Business Administration, MSc Computer Sciences is a plus
- A professional qualification e.g.MSCE, CCNA,
PRINCE11
- Minimum 7 years experience post qualification in a relevant field
