To head, manage, plan, implement, moderate, coordinate and control the activities in the Commercial Department to achieve set targets in terms of revenue and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the execution of Tanzania business development objectives for the Southern Corridor
New business bid preparation, commercial proposals and agreements in accordance with SOP
Analyses work procedures in relation to clients’ needs in a bid to improve /maintain quality of service
Gather, compile and share commercial market intelligence
Review and monitor commercial performance periodically and provide reports / forecasts as defined by the organization
Negotiate and agree on contractual agreements as per company policies
Establish and manage contractual agreements with suppliers and services providers related to commercial activities
Ensure that commercial offers are potentially profitable by applying control mechanisms and exchange information thereon with the relevant departments
Ensure that commercial enquiries are responded to timely and efficiently
Build and maintain a sales pipelines for the company
Analyze commercial performance and prepare respective management reports
Attend networking events and build industry connections in order to facilitate business growth
Works with other department heads to determine company goals and KPIs
Conduct market research to inform strategic business decisions
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
A University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics. A Post-graduate qualification in Business Administration and Management or Economics is desirable
A minimum of seven (7) years working experience, four (4) of which must have been in a reputable Clearing &Forwarding or Shipping Company
Good knowledge in Clearing and Forwarding
Good Computer Skills and knowledge
Must have demonstrable detailed understanding of Business strategy, operations and achievement of results
