Job Purpose
On behalf of our esteemed client, We are looking for a professional Operations Manager with background from Logistics & Transport sector to coordinate and oversee the company’s operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and increasing the efficiency of the company's business.
Major Responsibilities
- Negotiate transport costs with suppliers and get the best deal
- Prepare & share accurate delivery schedules as per the route plans
- Deliver all orders within the stipulated timelines
- Deliver all orders with correct documentation (Delivery Note/ Invoice/ Gate pass)
- Ensure all trucks to leave the mines on time
- Ensure that the drivers follow safety rules at all times
- Participate in man power planning, recruiting, training and evaluating logistics staff
- Manage staff leave and ensure all has been covered as per the leave policy
- Participate in preparing Trucks Management policies
- Ensure all vehicles are in a serviceable condition
- Manage the trucks tracking system
- Manage a log of all company vehicles
- Inform clients when their orders are being delivered
- Ensure all order documentation have been filled correctly
- Reporting: Prepare and send daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly reports
- Logistics cash float management
Required Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- University Degree/ Diploma in Logistics
- 7-10 years of experience in the logistics industry in a managerial position
- Tanzanian National
- Excellent communication skills
- Go-getter and Entrepreneurial, very results and number driven
- Strong strategic acumen coupled with execution capability
