Job Summary

Reporting to the Managing Director. The Chief Financial Accountant must ensure strong accounting and reporting records are maintained for the entities he/she will be responsible for, including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment. To provide information and advice (including tax) to management.

 

The Chief Financial Accountant’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


Key Results Areas/ Responsibilities

  • Ownership and delivery of weekly and monthly reports
  • Oversight of annual budgets
  • Oversight of financial accounts
  • Management of audit preparations and processes
  • Enhancement and maintenance of effective internal controls
  • Management of cash flow
  • Management, training and professional development for all employees within the accounting function
  • Liaising with each entity’s bankers
  • Liaising with local revenue authorities
  • Provide support in other areas of the accounting, finance and administration function, as required and as directed by Management 


Qualifications/ Skills/ Competences

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field
  • Professional qualification in Finance or Accounting such as CFA, CPA (T) or ACCA
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a senior/management accounting role
  • Excellent command of English (Spoken & Written)
  • Strong financial, accounting and managerial skills

  • Strong ability to implement and monitor internal controls

  • Proficient in any accounting software

  • Finance and tax planning skills

  • Good communicator, planner and organiser

  • Team manager and player

  • Extensive reporting capability

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work towards high accuracy

  • Trustworthy character and professional, who places extreme importance on integrity and confidentiality

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks

  • A requirement to be organised and have good record-keeping abilities

  • Good Computer skills proficient in Microsoft office, word, power point and excel

  • Ability to manage time effectively
