Job Brief
Sales and Marketing Manager- Eastern Africa will be responsible
and accountable for all sales and marketing activities related to agro products in east Africa.
Specific Responsibility & Duties
Planning & Budgeting
- To
prepare and submit as
required annual budgets, sales and marketing plans for all products for
which you are responsible. This responsibility includes the management
of the overall
process and should involve budgets and plans for the individual Regional Sales Agronomists.
- To prepare annual expenses
budgets as above
Sales Management and Supervision of the Sales Force
- To be responsible for the
delivery of the sales budgets as agreed and approved
- To manage and supervise the
Regional Sales Agronomists in respect of their sales activities. This
responsibility requires regular travel and hands-on supervision. The Regional
Sales Agronomists are responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision
of the Distributors and AGDs
- To make regular visits to and
spot checks of a sample of our agro retailer base
- To review, supervise and optimize
the route plans of the Regional Sales Agronomists to ensure increased and adequate coverage of our
retailer base in order to maximize sales and eliminate stock-outs
Sales Administration and Reporting
- To report sales of our products
on a weekly, monthly and annual basis and to review and monitor the reports of Regional Sales Agronomists for timeliness and accuracy
Liaison with other Departments
- Maintain regular contact with
the Logistics function to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of products
to our customers, the effective monitoring of the company’s vehicles and proper
management of fuel, repairs and maintenance
- Maintain regular contact with
the Accounting function to ensure the consistent availability of reliable and
accurate sales reports
- Keeps the Product Development
function fully aware of any technical performance issues and potential
improvements relating to the products
Market Intelligence
- To be aware of and report on
the activities of the competitors
- To understand, collate, analyze and report all
data relevant to a complete understanding of the market (actual and potential)
for the products under his responsibility
Qualifications & Experience
- Agronomy Graduation
- At least 10 years sales experience of handling the country of Tanzania, and other East African countries
- Leading a sales team of Regional Sales Agronomists
- Must have experience in Fertilizers, Agro Chemicals, Pesticides and
Farm Equipment
- Proven sales record in distribution, promotion and
growing the sales volumes for Agricultural Products for the Small Holder
Farmers
- Holding Tanzanian Passport
