Scope of the Job

  • Creating Distribution Infrastructure of Agro dealers in the territory
  • Recruit, train & manage a team of Sales Promoters
  • Defining sales and promotion strategies vis-à-vis competition
  • Distribute Products in appointed potential Ag-Dealers by agreed period
  • Control sales collections & keep the outstanding within agreed limits
  • Participate in field days and agribusiness fairs for increasing consumer awareness & off-take
  • Lease with Government Agricultural Officers and NGOs for dissemination of the technology to the farmers

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the delivery of the sales budgets as agreed and approved
  • Effectively organize Demos and participate in Farmer Field Days with help from the Sales & Marketing Manager
  • To make regular visits to and spot checks of our Distributors
  • Manage and be in touch with all the strategic partners in the sector and attend to collaborative activities as will be instructed from time to time
  • Undertake direct sales from company to distributors and secondary sale to the AGDs in designated areas
  • To report sales activity of our products on a daily basis and to review and monitor the reports of Sales volumes for timeliness and accuracy
  • To ensure that the appropriate contracts with Distributors are in place and that all relevant contact details are properly recorded
  • To promptly communicate stock levels to ensure that Agro products are available in the market at all times
  • To be aware of and report on the activities of our competitors
  • Doing in-shop promotions, AGDs stock survey, radio promotions, extension officer and lead farmer trainings, visiting residential schools

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to at least Degree level in Agronomy discipline
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in sales and promotions
  • Experience in at least one of the following (Seed, Fertilizer, Pesticide, Farm Equipment or Agricultural inputs) areas is essential
  • A demonstrated ability to think strategically
  • A proven track record in planning and achieving sales and promotion targets
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili is essential
  • A proven track record in managing and motivating others
