Job Purpose
On behalf of our esteemed client, we are looking for the Finance Head responsible for the company's accounts and the management and monitoring of all financial activity to maintain the company’s financial health and increase profitability in the long run.
Job Responsibilities
- To ensure that the finance team are informed of their roles, responsibilities and expectations and to provide them with appropriate, timely and accurate information, training and on-going development
- To oversee the production of the company management accounts and reporting for presentation to the Management
- To prepare statutory accounts for the company and liaising with auditors as required
- To work with the Senior Management team to manage financial elements of supplier contracts and present business performance to all internal and external stakeholders
- To complete the quarterly VAT returns in a timely and appropriate manner
- To manage the preparation of the departmental budgets and forecasts, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders in a timely and appropriate manner
- Lead on the development of financial controls whilst streamlining process within the finance function
- Develop robust financial policy and procedures
Essential Requirements
- Commerce
Graduate with Cost Accounting background with at least 4 years working experience in a similar position in
Distribution house in Africa
- Qualified Accountant (CPA or ACCA)
- Experience in managing finances and accounts within a financial management role
- Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in managing a team
- A good understanding and experience of the financial compliance issues
- Proven ability to review and challenge assumptions within detailed financial forecasts
- Proficiency in accounting software
