Position Purpose
We
are looking for Workshop Supervisor to provide maintenance duties in support of
the company management by ensuring vehicles are serviced and maintained in a
proper manner.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform Duties in a safe and responsible manner
- Plan, organize, schedule, and assign all aspects of work to include minor and major repairs or preventive maintenance, for a fleet of trucks, cars and other vehicles
- Maintain and update the equipment
- Supervise, monitor and reconcile the inventory in stores/parts department
- Oversee safety standards to insure that the shop complies with safety policies and guidelines
- Monitor and update the preventive maintenance program
- Submit purchase requests and write review bid specifications
- Ensure all personnel are effectively trained in the work they perform
- Ensure all related documentation is completed in timely manner
- Submit month-end Maintenance statements, including Servicing, Major Repairs and other related activities
- Perform appraisals on subordinates in a timely manner and at least semi-annually
- Assist other Departments to allow for their smooth operation
- Other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
Requirements
- Minimum Certificate in Mechanics, Diploma, Degree or any technical related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience as Workshop Supervisor
- Thorough knowledge of preventive maintenance and warranty programs
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles
- Knowledge of Transport system management and operations
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of vehicular maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of automotive shop operation and scheduling
- Knowledge of automotive safety programs
- Knowledge recording, filing and managing
- General language skills fluent spoken in both English and Swahili
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with Superiors and Subordinates
- Ability to adapt, overcome and organize in a constantly changing automotive field
- Experience of Transportation field will be of additional advantage
- Basic computer literacy will be of additional advantage required
