Job Summary
On behalf of our client, we are looking for HSE Manager responsible for the implementation and maintenance of
health, safety and environmental (HSE) programs to achieve desired
performance at the workplace. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for initiating and managing safety compliance programs, conducting training, developing procedures and driving an engaging zero incident
safety culture.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure site-specific policies adhere to local, state and federal regulations (OSHA)
- Utilize company systems and programs to actively engage all associates and
drive a proactive safety culture committed to eliminating or reducing
hazards and risk
- Evaluate site specific HSE policies, procedures and programs to ensure effectiveness
- Responsible for implementing and monitoring key HSE metrics to drive world class HSE performance
- Conduct incident investigations, determine root cause, and make recommendations for corrective action
- Ensure HSE communication systems and procedures are in place and utilized appropriately
- Manage all records in accordance with regulatory and company standards
- Responsible for execution of site-specific training programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance
- Partner with managers/supervisors to identify and address HSE issues
- Implement and monitors strategic HSE initiatives/ campaigns to ensure effectiveness
- Manage on-site assessments to audit physical conditions, safe work practices,
and HSE compliance in accordance with applicable standards
- Conduct workplace risk assessments to identify and eliminate or reduce risk in all areas of the operation
- Manage and engage HSE related teams and committees to ensure impactful results
- Research regulatory requirements, industry standards, and HSE best practices
- Other Job related duties and special projects as assigned by management
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health or relevant field or equivalent work experience
- 5 years experience in an Environmental, Health or Safety position in a manufacturing environment
- Technologically savvy with experience in MS Office products and Windows-based computer applications
- Thorough knowledge of legal regulations and regulatory agencies (OSHA)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, professional appearance, and presentation style
- Clearly communicate sensitive matters with management and maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple projects
- Ability to research and analyze information and draw valid conclusions and recommendations
- Desire to continually learn and expand knowledge base
- Ability to build professional relationships based on trust and mutual respect
- Knowledge of machine guarding principles and requirements
