Job Purpose
On be half of our happy client, we are looking for Monitoring and Evaluation Officer responsible for the monitoring and ensuring high quality and timely
inputs, and for ensuring that the project maintains its strategic vision
and that its activities result in the achievement of its intended
outputs in a cost effective and timely manner. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing the M&E
activities of the Project, assisting the management in preparing
Quarterly/Annual reports on project progress and will monitor the
project activities on a regular basis, developing and maintaining the
MIS of the Project and will be responsible for the collection &
analysis of different data in relation to the project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Track the performance of the project activities and outputs against expected results and adjust implementation processes to ensure the project is progressing towards the intended outcomes
- Analyze the impact of projects and promote learning by documentation of best practices. Use this information to support decision-making processes
- Track projects’ expenditure against approved budgets, anticipate any deviations and recommend and take action on relevant and required adjustments
- Work with management and other staff to ensure quality implementation and adherence to minimum standards
- Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of project quality, using donor monitoring tools appropriate
- Oversee implementation of M&E systems through regular field monitoring visits and tracking of Key Performance Indicators at the as approved by the donor
- Coordinate quarterly project review meetings to facilitate dialogue and learning on project implementation with the donor and other partners
- Support management and accountability through routine, accurate collection and reporting of information that confirms status of project activities based on log-frames
- Develop the quality control systems and mechanisms needed to guarantee proper management of information and data
- Work with the Management to conduct the Project assessment
- Identify capacity needs in the areas of basic services delivery for the project staffs and strengthen their capacity to deliver quality services
- Undertake pro-active on the job training and staff development. Train and Mentor project staff on effective project planning and management methodologies
- Conduct support supervision and provide feedback to the project staff
- Ensure accurate quality narrative and financial reports are submitted in a timely manner and according to donor requirements
- Work closely with Management and in ensuring that all reports meet donor requirements
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with at least 3 years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E in development projects implemented by national/international NGOs/UN bodies/ Government
- Demonstrated experience in program design monitoring and evaluation
- Demonstrated abilities in assessment techniques and analytical skills
- Capacity building experience in project design, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation
- Computer knowledge including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
- Strong skills in written and spoken English and Swahili
