The Role Summary

We are looking for a Finance Manager who can take on the accounting and reporting responsibility of our client's company operations in Tanzania. It is crucial that the right candidate has extensive experience and knowledge for accounting and tax rules in Tanzania and is comfortable to prepare month end closings independently. This person will work closely with company's advisors and under the supervision of Regional Manager. This ideal candidate may have to supervise partially a Financial Accountant, in charge of accounts payable, payments and petty cash or may be asked to handle these works too.

Responsibilities


Management and Month end closing
  • General Ledger Accounting management in our accounting software/ERP (Quickbooks but to be replaced soon by a new ERP)
  • Management of month-end closing with responsibility of the month end checklist and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Timely monthly reporting to Group in the format defined by Group Finance
  • Management of annual audit and annual financial statements

Controls and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Statutory reporting requirements as needed (e.g. tax)
  • Management of internal control environment in compliance with the Group policies
  • Collaboration with advisors and regional finance team on these topics

Working Capital Management
  • Revenue reconciliation with our IT systems and our partners
  • Invoicing to partners and collection of receivables
  • Cash flow management and preparation of funding request
  • If needed, to have face to face meeting with finance team of our partners in Dar es Salaam

Job Requirements

  • University Degree in Accounting or similar education. CPA (T) is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience from accounting and/or finance positions
  • Proficient knowledge of Tanzanian accounting/tax rules and IFRS
  • Fluency in English is a must
  • Experience from working in Excel and in major ERP systems
  • Very structured and organized
  • Problem solver / entrepreneur mindset, likes working in global organization with people with different cultural background
