Job Brief
As a Tire Fitment Technician, you will be responsible for replacing worn and damaged tyres for trucks and different types of vehicles. This job is to be based in a garage workshop or you could be out on the road in a van.
Main Tasks
- Examining damaged or problem tires, and conducting repairs or replacements based on the extent of damage
Diagnosing vibration and drivability problems to determine cause (tire or mechanical related) and initiates repairs
Inspecting the condition of all multi piece rims used and replaces any that show signs of wear, fatigue, rust, or weakness due to damage or age
Maintaining inventory and orders tires and associated parts and supplies, such as tubes, lug nuts, wheel studs, and related supplies or materials that are required for use on the tire truck - Carrying out wheel alignment and tracking adjustments. This involves making sure the tires are fitted at exactly the correct angle
- Suggesting the most suitable types of tires
- Changing filters, lubricating parts, and performing other basic road safety checks
- Fitting the new tires
- Removing and replacing tires
- Repairing punctures
- Advising which tires need to be replaced
- Performing any other related job duties as assigned

- Good practical skills
- A great knowledge of trucks and different types of vehicles, and how they work
- To work well on your own and as part of a team
- To be accurate and pay attention to detail
- Basic data inputting skills
- An awareness of health and safety issues
- An understanding of legal requirements relating to tire types and depths tread
- A full valid driving license
Job Requirements
- Should have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as a Tire Fitment Technician
- At least three (3) years of work experience in the diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and replacement of tires for trucks
