Position Summary
We
are seeking a personable, professional Tour Guide to offer our client's
guests
an exceptional experience while visiting their facility. In this role,
the ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging guests in an
informative and
interactive manner. You will provide a wealth of information regarding
the facility and its history and answer any questions the guests might
have to the very best of your ability.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in cooperation with colleagues the
educational tour of the guests and support operations director regarding
the tour
- Interact with visitors from various countries, inform them on the topics of the tour and animals
- Oversee visitors
activities and maintain safety
- To present the content in fluent, professional with competent language to
visitors
Improve and develop the tour in cooperation with operations director - Greet all guests promptly at scheduled tour times
- Outline the tour and timeline before beginning
- Determine if any guests have physical restrictions that should be considered
- Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner
- Answer any questions that the guests have
- Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic at all times
- Deescalate any tension with difficult guests
- Escort guests through the tour, taking breaks as needed
- Keep the tour moving on schedule while still being considerate to guests
- Know all safety and security protocols, should they be needed
Required Skills & Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Wildlife Conservation or in any field of life
sciences
- Practical experience
in handling animals is an advantage but not requirement
- Command of English language at least at a
conversational level
- Candidate's
ability to express himself/herself fluent and to maintain a conversation on an
adequate level is the key requirement and will be tested intensely
during the interview process
- People skills, routine in dealing with a larger
group of guests in a hospitality business environment, ability to speak in
public
- Ability to deal with popular science contents
- Serious, reliable personality
- Maintain at all times professional behaviour
- Passion for animals welfare and conservation
