Leads and executes assigned Direct Material Optimization (DMO), source change programs & Inventory initiatives to achieve the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) of procurement organization
Manages a large portfolio of cost reduction initiatives at existing or new suppliers which meet business objectives
Ensures programs are managed using a formal project management process: project scope, timing plan, business case and frequent project milestone reviews
Leads cross-functional teams and interfaces with all internal departments working on projects, to keep up to date on project status and ensure timely completion
Works collaboratively with Purchasing and Finance team to tie out the financial forecast for assigned programs
Facilitate supplier reviews with onsite visits in collaboration with supplier development
Manage and execute on time program launch with focus on quality and delivery
Ensures compliance to process of program management
Responsibility to manage a collection of related projects, including the planning, coordinating, evaluating and executing of activities involved with the entire operations of specific products, including development, testing, product quality, production, supplier, launch containment
Skills Required
Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while meeting deadlines and demanding quality execution
Good problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills
Clear and concise verbal and written communications for a global audience; ability to influence/persuade a diverse group of people in innovative ideas/concepts
Good interpersonal/customer relations skills; good presentation skills
Basic understanding of the procurement policies and procedures
MS Project or other program timing software
Ability to navigate Projects for project budget and cost tracking
Effectively interfaces with development engineers as needed
Quick and proactively identifies supply gap situations, and develops solutions to resolve conflicts. Anticipates change and responds quickly to new targets
Ability to understand financial results of sourcing strategies
Qualifications
5 years project management experience with 2 years of leading major initiatives, required
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain or Material planning, required
Experience in truck vehicle automotive is an added advantage
Previous experience managing and developing others is an added advantage
Global manufacturing and supply base knowledge
Experience of working in a global cross functional environment is an added advantage
