Job Purpose

The Chief Accountant must ensure strong accounting and reporting records are maintained for the entities he/she is responsible for including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment. To provide information and advice (including tax) to management.

Responsibilities

• The Chief Accountant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  
• Ownership and delivery of weekly and monthly reports
  
• Oversight of annual budgets
  
• Oversight of financial accounts
  
• Management of audit preparations and processes
  
• Enhancement and maintenance of effective internal controls
  
• Management of cash flow
  
• Management, training and professional development for all employees within the accounting function
  
• Liaising with each entity bankers
  
• Liaising with local revenue authorities
  
• Provide support in other areas of the accounting, finance and administration function, as required and as directed by Senior Management

Person Specification

• Excellent command of English (Spoken & Written)
• Five years experience in a similar senior accounting role
• Strong financial, accounting and managerial skill
• Strong ability to implement and monitor internal controls
• Extensive reporting capability
• Team manager and player
• Good communicator, planner and organiser
• Finance and tax planning skills
• Proficient in Quick books, Evolution or similar accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work towards high accuracy
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Good Computer skills proficient in Microsoft office, word, power point and excel
• A requirement to be organised and have good record keeping abilities
• Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
• Trustworthy character and professional, who places extreme importance on integrity and confidentiality
